2) DirectX 9.0c compatible 3D graphics hardware
For more detailed information, visit the System Requirements page.
Does it work on a Mac?
Yes, as long as the Mac meets the system requirements. Macs made in 2007 and later should be compatible. There are two ways to run Awning Composer on a Mac, both of which are officially supported by Apple:
1) Use Apple's Boot Camp utility to run both Mac OS X and Windows on the Mac. You can choose which operating system to use when starting the computer. The computer must be running Windows in order to use Awning Composer.
2) Use virtualization software such as Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion. This allows you to run Awning Composer (and other Windows applications) from within the Mac OS X environment.
Does it work on an iPad?
No. However, it does work on Windows tablets. These tablets cover a range of sizes and shapes, some being similar to the iPad, but are full-fledged computers that generally have greater processing power, storage, USB connectivity, and compatibility with a wide range of software and hardware.
Does it work on tablets?
Yes. Awning Composer works on tablets running Windows 8, 8.1, or 10. Android tablets and iPads are not compatible.
Which tablet should I buy?
Awning Composer works with Windows tablets. We recommend a Microsoft Surface.
How long will it take for me to learn how to use the software?
Awning Composer uses a very simple point-and-click (or touch) interface. Within a few minutes you will be comfortable bringing awnings into a scene and positioning them on the picture of a building. Realistically it will take you 2 or 3 hours to become very comfortable with using the program, but no prior graphics experience is needed.
What do you offer to assist in learning how to use the software?
The program includes documentation that can be read on the computer, searched by keyword (for example "valance"), and printed. We also recommend you visit our video Training section, which will provide the basics on how to use the program.
What happens if I have problems or need assistance?
Our Contact page offers several ways to receive assistance.
